Taurus International
In 1980, Taurus International purchased the Beretta factory in Sao Paulo, Brazil. In this purchase they acquired all the equipment, staff, and designs necessary to manufacture a number of firearms, most notably the famous Beretta 92. Starting with the original design, Taurus improved on it immensely, one of the results being the Taurus PT-99 Pistol. These additions include a drop hammer forged ordnance grade alloy frame for increased strength and a three-position frame-mounted ambidextrous safety. Overall, the Taurus PT-99 is an excellent pistol necessary for these modern times.

very good pistol. if you like big full size handguns then your in luck, the thing that sold me was the tac rail and high cap magazine. mec-gar sells an aftermarket mag that holds 18 + 1. i carry this on my hip concealed every day with the safety off and hammer decocked with no worries. all you need to do is weak a jacket or somthing big enough that can hide it. ive put almost 500 rounds through my taurus WITH OUT A SINGLE JAM OR MALFUNCTION. not one time has my taurus ftf os stovepiped or anything. regular ball rounds or jhp -p or +p it will take just about anything you put through it. it shoots a little low due to the fixed sights being sighte in at 60 or 70m i think is what i was told. easy to compensate for all i did was put i tiny white mark on the front sight a little lower. taurus bought berettas miami plant with there tools and die and are licensed to make these. they are basically a bereatta with improvements made to specific parts. the safety / decocker is on the lower which i love. and the locking block was improved with major success. no block failures like the beterras had. this gun is like owning a super beretta at 1/2 the price. the only downside i believe is the barrel is not chrome lined but the ramp is. for someone who loved the beretta you cant go wrong. its a little big an heavy but i wouldnt trade if for 2 smaller pistols.
